Finished off the last bits of chassis work, all the re-working of the tunnel is now complete that means we can put down the tig torch for a few weeks. Removed un-wanted pieces of the gearbox housing. Chassis is ready to go off to be blasted and powder coated next week. Time to head down the pub to see in the New Year. See you all next year.
Stripped all ancillaries from the engine block and boxed up. Garage got a good clean.
Pedal box stripped cleaned and welded. Suze fabricated sheet metal inserts.
Cross braces for transmission tunnel welded and finished.

Nigel and Mick made beautiful braces to stiffen up the diff. Chris made some mounts for the gearbox. Paul did some of the chages to the rails round the engine. Jon did a lot of welding! Pizza for lunch.

Chris F and Jon made a good start by removing (almost) all the rivets. We then set about grinding off any un-necessary metal work.
We then offered up the engine and planned the mountings etc.
Chilli and potatoes for lunch mmmmm….it was yummy!

Jon, Toby and Snooze.
Bolted gearbox to engine – looks like it will fit with a few alterations.
- Grind top of bell housing
- Move LHS upright to allow fitting of starter.
- Move top rail to fit clutch slave and push rod.
Nigel, Chris B, Craig & Jon:
Started day with a car rolling around the garage looking like a car! This looked boring, so we removed bodywork including all aluminium panels. Still looked too much like a car so we removed rollcage, seats & floors. After all our hard work and thinking we stopped for a beer and bbq!
After refueling, rear suspension, diff and steering column came out too! With a final inspired push by Craig, the front suspension was also gone leaving nothing!!!
Josh and Craig visited the cars – cool!
